Coffee Table w/Black Base & Biomorphic Glass Top Style Kroehler Pearsall or Tonk
By Adrian Pearsall, Kroehler Mfg. Co., Tonk Mfg. Co.
Located in Topeka, KS
Stunning vintage Mid Century Modern coffee table with a black painted wood base & a biomorphic or kidney shaped glass top in the style of Kroehler Pearsall or Tonk. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, it had a few nicks & scuffs on the black base so we gave it a fresh coat of black paint. The glass has one very small chip in edge (may be able to be sanded out) & normal scratching on surface for age. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1950’s.
What a beautiful biomorphic BEAST!!!! WOW!!! This is a marvelous vintage mid-century modern style coffee table comprised of a black painted wood base and a biomorphic or kidney shaped glass top in the style of Kroehler, Adrian Pearsall, or Tonk Manufacturing Company. This savvy little coffee table certainly took us on a wild goose chase that I’m not sure is completely over! You can find this table all over the internet attributed to Adrian Pearsall. It is NOT designed by him. Of that we are sure. But definitely in his style so it is easy to see where the misattribution comes from. It is also attributed to Valentine Seever, which is not a single person but two last names. And it may have been promoted by them as they were a division of Kroehler Manufacturing Co. It has also been attributed to Tonk Manufacturing Co., best known for their antique piano and organ swiveling stools; but we have not found actual proof of that. My mother (a “veteran” vintage...

Vintage Ranch Oak Pair of Small Credenzas or Buffet Cabinets, A. Brandt Company
By A. Brandt Ranch Oak Furniture
Located in Topeka, KS
Fabulous pair of small credenzas or buffet cabinets by A. Brandt Company comprised of solid ranch oak with a natural oak finish. Wonderful vintage condition. One top has a joint crack that had occurred from age, but it has been repaired, it just added beauty to the patina. Please see photos, circa mid-20th century.
Yes! You are seeing double!! Aren’t these vintage ranch oak cabinets beautiful?? They are comprised of rustic solid ranch oak with a natural oak finish that is signature to A. Brandt Company furniture. The natural oak finish was made by sealing the wood, double coating it with lacquer, and applying liquid wax and Spanish whiting. Both cabinets have double doors that open to storage with a single shelf in each unit and a pair of drawers. One of the shelves in one unit is outfitted with pull-out wire hooks for hanging cups or barware. Plus, the doors and drawers feature the A. Brandt signature wood pulls. There are so many options these cabinets have to offer. They would be useful in your rustic office or den for books and office supplies or out in your ranch living room with a pair of lamps on top and linens underneath, in your dining room for tableware, or rec room as a dry bar! And strikingly useful as a pair of nightstands!! Versatile, simple, and oh-so-full-of-style!

MCM 2-Piece China Hutch Cabinet Buffet by Heywood Wakefield Contessa Collection
By Heywood-Wakefield Co.
Located in Topeka, KS
Mid-Century Modern 2-piece china hutch, cabinet, or buffet by Heywood Wakefield for the Contessa Collection. Comprised of 2-pieces a top hutch & a bottom buffet in a dark cherrywood, woven wicker basket weave or caned door fronts, brass toned pulls, & slim steel legs. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are nicks on the left side of the buffet edge toward the front. Stiffener has been added underneath buffet as the cabinet had sagged in the middle making doors uneven. Stiffener corrected that issue. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1960’s.
In 1959, the Heywood Wakefield “Contessa” slogan was "Wood for warmth and grace ... steel for strength and rigidity." "Furniture of Slender Elegance." And does this China cabinet ever fit that description. The Contessa line features a darker cherrywood, gold or brass toned accents, and slim steel legs. This cabinet has 2 pieces. A bottom buffet that features brass toned pulls that open two sets of double doors. There are three drawers on the right side with a silverware tray in the top drawer. The left side is open storage. The top hutch features two rolling side doors with woven wicker basket weave, or caned, door fronts and three shelves in the center. The whole cabinet stands on slim steel legs and exudes mid-century modern magnificence! This awesome, versatile china cabinet or buffet will look amazing whether you place it in the dining room, living room, study, or the kitchen. It is adaptable enough to blend right in whether your design style leans to Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern, industrial, southwestern, or modern country.
In 1897, two prominent furniture companies, Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company merged and created Heywood Brothers & Wakefield Company; the name would be shortened to Heywood-Wakefield in 1921. The new company rose to popularity in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s with its solid wood, Art Deco-inspired, mid-century modern furniture. In 1992, South Beach Furniture Company acquired the rights to the Heywood-Wakefield name. After realizing how in demand vintage Heywood Wakefield pieces were, production began on new pieces that remained true to the style, quality, and values of the original company. Today's Heywood-Wakefield is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the name and its famous pieces while incorporating new and contemporary technology which allows new generations to appreciate the classic looks from a classic company.

1971 MCM Lane Headboard Tower Suite Collection Full/Queen Bed Rosewood & Walnut
By Lane Furniture
Located in Topeka, KS
Marvelous vintage Mid-Century Modern headboard Lane Furniture Tower Suite Collection comprised of walnut and rosewood. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been restored or refinished. Please see photos and zoom in for details as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 10-18-1971.
Sometimes the best thing to do first thing in the morning is go right back to bed! And honestly, with a bed this beautiful, you may never want to get up!!! This is an INCREDIBLE full or queen sized “Tower Suite Collection” headboard by Lane Furniture!! It bears a lovely contrast of a walnut frame and fabulous decorative rosewood inlays across the front and both sides. This is a classic beauty with a Mid-Century Modern style that you are sure to love for years to come. It is going to be gorgeous in your bedroom! All you need is a full or queen-sized mattress and a Hollywood frame OR if you don’t mind the opinion of my mom, who is an EXCEPTIONAL retired interior designer… She would have a hanging mechanism or wall cleat made so that you can attach it to the wall and lift it a little higher, use a platform rather than a Hollywood frame, and toss out the box springs as mattresses today are much taller than they used to be. Annnnnd, Voila! Maximum exposure of the headboard! If that sounds like something you would be interested in, we would be happy to provide a wall cleat upon purchase of the headboard. This is a gorgeous example of high-quality craftsmanship constructed with exquisite woods and attention to detail quintessential of Lane Furniture. You simply can’t go wrong!
Lane was founded in 1912 by Edward Hudson Lane at the age of 21, upon his father’s suggestion after he, John Edward Lane, bought a small packing-box plant in Altavista, Virginia. Edward procured a loan and converted the factory to make cedar chests and named it The Standard Red Cedar Chest Co. Sales were good and the company expanded. But during WWI, with the banning of rail freight deemed non-essential, they began making pine ammunition boxes. This is notable as it led to an assembly line which was revolutionary and became the first moving conveyor assembly system in the furniture industry. After the war, with sales still increasing, Ed Lane decided he could risk giving the company his name and changed it to The Lane Co...

Broyhill Brasilia Dining Chairs Original Set of 10 Mid-Century Modern, 1962-1970
By Broyhill Brasilia
Located in Topeka, KS
Iconic Mid-Century Modern Broyhill Brasilia original set of 10 dining chairs, 2 arm and 8 sides. Dark walnut and new dark blue/black upholstery. In fabulous vintage condition apart from one side chair that had a broken back rail that has been repaired by our experienced staff. Please see photos, circa 1962-1970.
Their iconic sculpted design inspired by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer is extremely desirable and sought after. Finding an original set of ten is rare! They have been re-upholstered in a fabric that is an ongoing debate here as to whether it is blue or black. Depending on the light some of us say blue and some say black, but either way, they are absolutely stunning. They are comprised of deep sultry walnut and the backs of the chairs bear the elegant triple Brasilia arches. Their high backs, tapered legs and sturdy frame unify their comfort. These will be wonderful encompassing any dining room table. The Brasilia Collection is Mid-Century Modern in style but borders on Brutalist although it would be beautiful in an Industrial or modern country setting as well.
It is no coincidence that The Brasilia collection design is very architectural in style. It was introduced to the public at the Seattle World’s Fair in 1962 and drew its inspiration from the architecture of the newly created and majestic Capital of Brazil, Brasilia. The brochure for Brasilia by Broyhill Premier says…….”Brasilia…the city…by its daring and beauty has revolutionized architecture and opened vast new horizons of design. From this inspired dream, Broyhill Premier drew inspiration for the furniture grouping which bears the Fine young name: BRASILIA.” This line was extremely popular with the furniture buying public and is still sought out today. Broyhill ended production of this successful line sometime in the 1970s...

Kila Red Dog Rolling Table Lamp by Harry Allen for IKEA
By IKEA, Harry Allen
Located in Topeka, KS
Awesome Kila red dog rolling table lamp designed by Harry Allen for Ikea. It is in wonderful vintage condition. We have provided a new plug adapter. Please see photos, circa 2001.
Ok I never thought I would say IKEA and original awesome design in the same sentence but here you have it! This incredible table task lamp was designed in 2001 exclusively for Ikea by Harry Allen designs. He and it won accolades worldwide for its fabulous design. Harry’s inspiration for this rolling task light was his life-long interest in roller skating. Its tripod base is supported by rubber wheels which allow it to move in circles. Designer, Harry Allen is quoted as saying “Kila spins on its axis as if it had been practicing that move in the roller rink for decades.” This bright red lamp is so reminiscent of 1960s cutting edge design yet feels futuristic at the same time. And although it originally sold for IKEAs super low pricing has now as with the great designs through the ages become collectable and sought after.
Harry Allen is an award winning designer born1964 in New Jersey. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Alfred University and his master’s in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in NYC. He founded Harry Allen Design NYC in 1993. That same year he produced a line of furniture called Living Systems and since has designed internationally with a wide variety of clients and products. He has work in the permanent collection of MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Denver Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art as well as earning many design awards.

This is a magnificent vintage Chinese warrior or Guan Yu sculpture comprised of stunning rosewood with intricately hand carved details and a removeable guandao (Chinese pole weapon). In Chinese culture, General Guan Yu represents loyalty and valor. People believe that by having his image in art or sculpture in their home will protect their family from harm. And while we don’t believe he is going to break out with any actual martial arts moves; his fearless presence commands the room and demands attention! You may notice that in some of the photos our warrior friend is holding his guandao upside-down, don’t judge! Even the best of warriors tend to get exhausted from a long day of defending humanity and protecting mankind. A guy can get a little turned around! Just look at his expression… he is OVER it!! His hand is even up gesturing as if to say, “Talk to the hand!” LOL!! He is handsomely dressed from head to toe in full body armor and his long beard or Fu Manchu is flowing in the breeze. He stands proud upon a rounded square base at about 24 inches tall, so he is definitely larger scale, he will be fabulous in ANY room of your home, and he is the EPITOME of Chinoiserie excellence! Don’t let this incredible hand carved rosewood Chinese warrior sculpture...
