Gorgeous set of 18 vintage Asian drop ceiling panels. They are 2 x 2 ft. lauan wood squares, ¼ inch thick. 16 yellow with dragon design and 2 white with dragon and symbol design, hand painted and gilded, in beautiful condition with wear as you would expect with vintage pieces. All panels have varying degrees of wear including nicks, dings, scratches, and chips – we call it patina – they are by no means perfect but are beautiful. Please see photos, Circa, 20th century.

This pair of tables have been completely restored to their original glory. The tops have been stripped and repainted and the legs have been sanded and given a fresh finish. Double Delightful-ness!! This is a stunning pair of vintage Mid-Century Modern corner step tables from the Coronado Group designed in 1955 by Luther Draper for Founders Furniture. Their long straight legs with cross stretchers and beautiful brass sabots on the feet are eye catching and sophisticated. They are square with a corner angled step and comprised of a superb matte finished hardwood with Classic back beveled edges. They would look stunning beside your loveseat; living room sofa; dividing a corner or u-shaped sectional; or even a separation for perpendicularly placed sofas and chairs. They will add just the right Mid-Century Modern flair to your home.
Founders Furniture was started in 1947 as a subsidiary of the esteemed Knoll International for their residential line and then merged with Thomasville Furniture in 1965.
It is said that Luther Draper designed for the whose-who of high caliber furniture companies in the mid-century. He designed The Coronado Group collection for Founders Furniture in 1955. He had an unmistakable clean, modern mark he left on his work. He also designed fabulous furniture including the “India Teakwood” collection for White Furniture Company and the well known “Boomerang Desk” for Alma, which was recognized for its prize-winning office furnishings. Comprised of a solid walnut oval bottom and a slightly larger ring of solid walnut for the top with the two being connected by simple solid walnut spindles. It is EXACTLY what the party ordered!
George Briard is a nom de plume for designer and artist Jascha Brojdo who was born May 17, 1917, in Poland. He was born Jakub Brojdo but changed his name to Jascha upon moving to Chicago in 1937 where he attended the Art Institute of Chicago and earned his MFA. During WWII he served on General George S. Patton’s staff as an interpreter. He ended up in New York after his discharge from the Army and began working with a friend, Max Willie, from art school. It was Willie who suggested the name George Briard for his hand painted serving trays he began making and selling, and who first produced his commercial products. After painting trays for a time, he moved on to buying glassware blanks from Libbey and Anchor Hocking and embellishing them with his designs, most times in 22-karot gold. He soon learned he could license his name to those companies as well as other companies to create his designs for him. His creations became highly popular through the 1950s to 1970s. During those years you could find his name on everything from glass, to ceramic, metal, or wood and on trays, coffee pots, dishes, and more. They were offered for sale in high end department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller. In 2004 he was awarded the Frank S. Child Lifetime Achievement Award by The Society of Glass and Ceramic Decorators. George or rather Jascha or maybe it’s Jakub passed away a year later in New York at the age of 88. His work has become sought after by collectors and his nom de plume has become a mid-century Icon.

Excellent set of eight black Torsion dining chairs designed by Giancarlo Piretti for KI. There are seven arm chairs and one side chair. They are in wonderful vintage condition with minor wear that you would expect with age. Please see photos, circa 1995.
In 1997 Giancarlo Piretti received an award for his Torsion seating collection. These chairs are part of that collection. Designed and made initially and primarily for commercial purpose they are extremely comfortable and flexible. They are lightweight and stackable. This set has an attractive textured high impact black plastic seat, back, and arms on chrome legs. No one expects this chair have the comfort it provides. The back flexes. This flex is achieved with the torsion mechanism which creates gradually increasing resistance. They were designed for comfort during long meetings or lectures. But, that makes them perfect for long dinners with lots of conversation. Or, family night with puzzles, cards, and games.
The designer, Giancarlo Piretti, was born in Bologna Italy in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums including MoMA New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with is son, designer Alessandro Piretti.

Stunning vintage Italian modern Lucite and chrome table lamp with polished aluminum shade, chrome shaft, and solid Lucite and chrome stacked discs by Noel B.C. Italy. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The shade has a few dings & creases from use in our opinion it does not detract from its amazing look. The lamp retains its original cord with inline switch. It is in perfect working condition. There are no outstanding flaws in the lucite and there is a slight darkening in the chrome somewhat like tarnish and cleaning has not removed, but it does not detract from its over-all beauty. Beautiful swivel bar stool by A. Brandt comprised of solid ranch oak and a dark brown almost black vinyl or faux leather seat cushion. Wonderful vintage condition. The joints have been tightened and the swivel lubricated, and a light coat of restore-a-finish has been applied. Please see photos. Circa mid-20th century.
Such an awesome bar stool by A. Brandt!! This stool is comprised of rustic solid ranch oak with an Acorn Brown finish that is signature to A. Brandt Company furniture. Acorn Brown was made by applying an oil stain before sealing the wood. After lacquering, Acorn Brown wax was applied. And this stool wears it well!! It’s just what you need at the end of your rustic, western, or industrial style bar, but it would also be perfect at a tall game or bar style table. This fabulous stool has a solid ranch oak base with an iron ring stretcher joining its four splayed legs which makes it extra sturdy and mirrors the sultry dark brown round and rotating cushioned vinyl seat. It is versatile and just what you need to add a little spark of style to an otherwise mundane spot!

Hibriten actually had 2 companies- Hibriten Furniture Co, and Hibriten Chair Co. Both located in Lenoir, N. C. Hibriten Furniture was founded in the 1920’s by Orrin Robbins and Hibriten Chair Co. was founded a few years later by Robey Robbins. Hibriten Chair Co. was well known for its extremely high quality of solid mahogany or walnut French reproductions and other styles of furniture. Hibriten became a part of Bernhardt Furniture in the 1950-1960’s with their president George C. Robbins and was eventually purchased by Bernhardt sometime in the early 1970’s.
