MCM Bow Shape Chrome Étagère 5 Smoked Glass Shelves Style of James David or DIA

By Design Institute America, James David Furniture

Located in Topeka, KS

Gorgeous Mid-Century Modern étagère comprised of a bow shape chrome frame and 5 bowed smoked glass shelves. Done in the style of James David or Design Institute of America aka DIA. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use. There is a small chip on the backside of one shelf and the chrome has no outstanding flaws that we have detected. Please see photos, Circa 1960-1970’s. WOW!!! Just look at this GORGEOUS chrome and smoked glass 5 shelf étagère!! Designed in the manner of James David or DIA, this wonderful Mid-Century Modern étagère has a distinct appearance… starting with four tall, vertical square chrome tubes that are placed in a manner that creates a tall slender “square” in the center of the étagère. That “square” is attached to a large chrome rectangle which goes against the wall, and five curved smoked glass shelves slide through the center square and attach to the rectangle and pull this beauty together. It has a smooth, sleek bowed or curved design which will fit in nicely with any style home. Put it in your living room to display precious photos, sculpture, your Mid-Century Modern pottery, glass collection, and/or smaller 2D works of art. Or place it in your sitting room to hold books and small décor...

1982 Milk Glass & Aluminum Monumental Pendant Lights by Visa Selling Separately

Located in Topeka, KS

Magnificent Art Deco Revival white milk glass & aluminum monumental cylinder pendant lights by Visa Lighting hardwired & comprised of a milk glass cylinder shade, spun aluminum base, top rim (or flange), canopy, & cone shape finial, metal dowl rod, 6 socket lamp holder with 6 bulbs, 1 down facing light, & metal hanging chain. Selling separately but 4 available. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, one of the milk glass shades was broken & repaired. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1982. NOTE: There are 4 lights available currently which are photographed & labeled 1, 2, 3, & 4. There will be a price concession for the repaired light, and we will also negotiate a price for multiple lights purchased. Also, when we photographed one light did not have its chain & canopy, but it will be provided before we ship it out. Chain lengths can be altered upon request. “In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary!” – Aaron Rose. And these white milk glass & aluminum monumental cylinder pendant lights by Visa are nothing short of that… Totally EXTRAORDINARY!!! And let me tell you… SIZE MATTERS FOLKS!!! And the glass body ALONE on one is 30 inches tall… 35.25 inches rim to rim… 43 inches to the top of the cone and it’s 14 inches in diameter!! HOLY MOLY!!! They are LARGE and in CHARGE!!! We have 4 of these fabulous, hardwired pendant lights that we are selling separately. They are comprised of an incredible milk glass cylinder shade, a marvelous spun aluminum base, top rim (or flange), and a wonderful cone shaped finial. Inside the cylinder is a metal dowl rod with a lamp holder featuring 6 sockets with bulbs… 3 facing up and 3 facing down. And if you follow that rod down even lower, there is yet another single down facing light. So, this means you have TWO lighting options… You can have ALL the lights on OR you can switch off the down facing light. Isn’t it NICE to have options?? And all this MAGNIFICENCE hangs from a fabulous spun aluminum canopy and handsome metal hanging chain. Fun Fact!!! Visa Lighting has a cool little video on U-Tube discussing their products and history and these EXACT light fixtures make a quick appearance in the video photographed with a red background behind the lights, you should check it out!! They’re kind of FAMOUS!! We can just see a series of three or all four hanging over your dining table, kitchen island, or indoor bar. And though they are Art Deco Revival in style, they will also blend in beautifully with your Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century Modern, Modern, and other décor styles. A single light would be stunning in a tall, narrow entryway, stairwell, or hallway or a sequence of three or four in your Great room hanging from the tall, vaulted ceilings. They would also be beautiful in a bedroom, in your study, or in the living room. Endless incredible possibilities. Visa lighting has a long and rich history beginning back in 1919 as the Mo Bridges Lighting Company. About ten years later there was a company split, and they went from Mo Bridges to Mo Brothers Manufacturing. Well known for their ornate, hand-crafted light fixtures and chandeliers. In 1943 Bob Mitchell, an employee of Mo Brothers, left to form Product Engineering & Marketing and his own line of church...

6 General Fireproofing Mid Century Machine Age Aluminum Goodform Armchairs

By General Fireproofing Company

Located in Topeka, KS

Handsome set of 6 Goodform mid-century machine age and industrial style aluminum armchairs by General Fireproofing Company. Comprised of anodized slightly gold colored aluminum frames and upholstered in a woven beige fabric. They are in wonderful vintage condition overall. The aluminum has been cleaned and gone over gently with steel wool and the fabric has been professionally cleaned. That does not mean they are free from signs of age but have a nice patina. You may wish to recover. The aluminum coloration ranges from silver to gold and is individual on each chair. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa 1940s-1960s. Holy cow! We are in love with these awesome Goodform chairs by General Fireproofing!! We have six and they are comprised of anodized brushed aluminum frames and bare a blend of machine age, industrial, mid-century styles. They are anodized a lovely gold color… You heard that right… Gold! Or kind-of “gliver.” A little silvery with a gold tone. Not sure exactly how to describe it, but it’s fabulous!! Two of the chairs are slightly darker gold with less silver and a little extra detail including a V-shaped overlay detail of aluminum on the front curve of the arms, so you can use those two as host and hostess chairs. Currently they are upholstered in a wool-like woven beige fabric, but we don’t think its original; however, it is in good condition and ready to use for a while but…. Wow! Would they ever look fantastic in new leather, vinyl, or maybe mohair! They have a slightly rolled seat back which is a cool detail, the arms are partially upholstered for comfort, and their stretchers and cross bars enhance their industrial look and make them sturdy enough to stand up to a family of toddlers, teenagers, or…elephants whichever you have! Ha Ha!!! The General Fireproofing Company or GF began in 1902 in Youngstown, Ohio. They were originally manufacturers of building materials. But when the building industry took a downturn in 1907 the put their efforts into producing steel office furniture. Their first 4-drawer steel file cabinet came to fruition in 1910 and the first fireproof safe...

Circa, Late 1900’s - Early 20th Century. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY KING AND QUEEN!!!! Talk about ABSOLUTE Royalty!!! This is a glorious pair of Gothic Revival Ecclesiastical His & Hers Throne chairs comprised of hand carved oak frames bearing engraved Gothic details, designs, and cutouts including a transcendent triple finial high back presentation worthy of nobility. Each peak is hand carved with designs resembling oak leaves and they have been intricately dyed black… they’re nothing short of fabulous. Because of the maturity of these chairs, we believe that they were probably reupholstered at some point in their lives, and they look marvelous!! They are wearing a beautiful bright cardinal red hopsacking fabric trimmed with gimp and nail head details on the seats and back inserts which also have upholstered backs. The King chair has fabric surrounding the arm rests while the Queen chair has no arms, however it does have attractive side braces. Both thrones have lovely hand carved decorative front aprons with black detail and stand proudly upon turned front legs with black dyed rings & details on casters and square straight slightly curved back legs… I mean, WOW!!!! They’re definitely Ecclesiastical and Gothic Revival but they bear a bit of East Lake Victorian style as well and they are SURE to be quite the conversation piece in your home! They would be fabulous used as host & hostess chairs at your dining table, in a conversation or waiting area, in a home library, at a his & hers dressing area, or facing the fireplace in your den or study. Wherever you choose to use these unsurpassable chairs of distinction, they are sure to make you feel like wearing a crown and being addressed as “Your Majesty...

Vintage Donghia Yellow Stripe Spirit Sofa by John Hutton

Vintage Donghia Yellow Stripe Spirit Sofa by John Hutton

By John Hutton, Donghia

Located in Topeka, KS

Incredible spirit sofa by John Hutton for Donghia. This one is in its original yellow striped fabric and fabulous condition, circa 1990s. The dust cover has been replaced. This sofa is simply wonderful! It was designed by John Hutton for the prestigious Donghia Furniture, a to-the-trade only supplier to interior designers and architects. This sofa, named Spirit, and part of the Enchanted collection was inspired by the ghostly shapes of furniture draped in sheets in homes during extended periods of being uninhabited. John Hutton’s furniture designs are at the same time Classic and modernistic especially depending upon the fabric chosen to “clothe” them. This sofa takes on a more Classic feel with the yellow, army green and cream traditional stripe adorning its modernistic and angular share. I’m sure you are drooling over this sofa right now. We also have the companion chaise longue listed on our storefront as well. I know you...

Art Deco Set 3 Chrome Tube & Black Faux Leather Chairs Kem Weber Z Chair Style

By Kem Weber

Located in Topeka, KS

Fantastic vintage Art Deco set of 3 chrome tube and original black vinyl or faux leather chairs in the style of Kem Weber's Z Chair. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The frames have scratches consistent with age and on two of the chairs the texture on the vinyl is a bit different than the third chair. These chairs also have an extra factory hole in the arm on opposite sides leading us to believe these may have been originally part of a ganged set. They work perfectly as singles, however. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1920-1940’s. Now THIS is a Triple-TREAT!!! We have not one, not two, but THREE fantastic vintage Art Deco chrome and black faux leather chairs...

Everyone dances to the beat of their own drum, it’s what makes the world go ‘round! But let me tell you something… You are about to BUST A MOVE when you lay eyes on this INCREDIBLE copper kettle drum, we are offering as a REAL drum table, by W.F.L. Drum Company!!! AAAAHHHHH!! IT. IS. AWESOME!!! Its exclusive style borders between Industrial, steampunk, and a bit rustic. It is center table height, and it is comprised of a copper kettle surrounded by copper painted aluminum base, arms, and foot pedal and a fabulous drum skin top with a painted steel rim and vertical chrome handles. A fun fact… W.F.L. Drum Company was established by William F. Ludwig and a MONUMENTAL moment for Ludwig was on a Sunday night in February 1964 “The Beatles” preformed “All My Loving” as the intro song on “The Ed Sullivan Show” as Ringo Starr jammed out on his iconic drums which bared the Ludwig logo! Sheer popularity pandemonium for Ludwig after that! This is the ULTIMATE must-have for a music enthusiast or drum lover!!! How awesome would this be displayed in a music room in a corner between a couple of chairs holding a record player and set of vinyl, in a game room as a lamp table, or just an entertaining way to display your Beatles or Ringo Starr memorabilia? We think it would be fun to put a piece of glass either directly on top of the drum OR float the glass on the chrome handles and give it a floating effect! There are just TOO many fun possibilities with this especially unique find! The Ludwig Drum...
