The body of each Silver Vase is decorated with traditional foliate swags and each has a large armorial engraved on the one side. An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique Victorian English sterling silver cup; an addition to our Victorian silverware collection This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver presentation cup has a campania shaped form to a circular domed foot. The bulbous, shaped lower portion of this silver cup is embellished with impressive chased and embossed leaf and floral decoration. The plain tapering surface of the cup incorporates the contemporary engraved coat of arms depicting a chevron between three roses, barbed, seeded on a chief of the second a lion passant guardant between two closed books paleways, clasped and garnished of the last, the clasps to the dexter, all above the motto 'Virtus vera nobilitas' - Virtue is true nobility*. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Charles II English sterling silver porringer; part of our collectable silverware collection. This exceptional antique Charles II sterling silver porringer has a circular rounded form onto a collet base. The surface of the porringer is embellished with an impressive chased hunting hound to one side and a stag to the other, all amidst large foliate designs and incorporating pinstruck swirl designs. This English silver porringer is fitted with two impressive cast, leaf decorated S-scroll handles with elevated figural shaped thumbpieces. Note: After surviving the Great Fire of London the records at the London Assay office were destroyed by fire in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697.
