Hiram Reynolds Bloomer Paintings

American, 1845-1911

Hiram Reynolds Bloomer, was born in New York on December 19, 1845. Bloomer came to California with his family in 1852 and settled in San Francisco. Having decided upon an art career, he became a pupil of Virgil Williams, Thomas Hill and Stephen Shaw from 1868-73. The years 1874–79 were spent in Paris, where he took over Whistler's old studio while studying with Duran and Pelouse. While there, his Old Bridge at Grez was purchased by the French government. The years 1879–90 were spent in England. Upon returning to the U.S., he attended the NAD for two years. 1892 he returned to San Francisco and resumed his residence and studio at 506 Battery Street. Early in his career he concentrated on portraiture, but after returning from Europe, he turned his attention to the local landscape. His works done after this time show the influence of the Barbizon painters. About the turn of the century he moved across the Golden Gate to Sausalito where he spent his remaining years. His life came to a tragic close on June 3, 1911 after he was hit by a cable car in San Francisco. His exhibitions were held at Mechanics Institute (SF), 1865, 1871; SFAA, 1872-1910; Centennial Expo (Philadelphia), 1876; Paris Salon and Expo Universelle, 1878; Royal Academy of Arts (London), 1879-90; Calif. State Fair, 1895-1901; Bohemian Club, 1897-1911; Del Monte Art Gallery (Monterey), 1907-09.

Impressionist Oil Painting – Sunset Over Colorado Front Range Landscape
By Charles Partridge Adams
Located in Denver, CO
This evocative oil on canvas painting by renowned American landscape artist Charles Partridge Adams (1858–1942) beautifully captures a glowing sunset along Colorado's majestic Front Range. Rendered in a refined Tonalist style, the work features tall, mature trees bathed in soft hues of green, amber, gold, and rust, evoking the serene transition of day into evening in the Western landscape. Although unsigned, this work is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the artist’s estate, ensuring provenance and collector confidence. The painting is presented in a vintage gold frame, enhancing its timeless appeal. Framed dimensions measure 18 ½ x 26 ¼ inches; the canvas itself measures 16 x 24 inches. This piece reflects Adams’s signature ability to translate the quiet drama of nature into rich, atmospheric compositions. A fine addition to any collection of American Western art, Tonalism, or early 20th-century landscape painting. About the Artist: Charles Partridge Adams (1858–1942) was one of Colorado’s most celebrated landscape painters and a prominent figure in the American West’s early art scene. Born in Franklin, Massachusetts, Adams relocated to Denver in 1876. He received his only formal training from Helen Chain, a student of George Inness, who introduced him to influential artists such as Alexander Phimister Proctor...

"TWISTS AND TURNS" BIG SKY CLOUD FORMATION
Located in San Antonio, TX
C.S. Steve Talley Fredericksburg Texas & Santa Fe New Mexico Artist Image Size: 12 x 16 Frame Size: 16 x 20 Medium: Oil "Twists and Turns" C. S. “Steve” Talley developed an art interest not long after graduating with a degree in astronomy/physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1978. Juggling a career in the sciences and ultimately computer programming, his art skills continued to improve by taking workshops from primarily plein air artists. Talley’s style of impressionistic realism continues to evolve as he explores color from bold to tonalist. He takes artistic license to push a color or include a compositional element to accomplish his goal of creating the intangible “strong emotional content”. Beginning as a portrait painter he has evolved to become primarily a western landscape painter. He also enjoys painting astronomical and religious themes. His main influences come from Paul Strisik, Will Sparks...
