Gorgeous Mid-Century Modern étagère comprised of a bow shape chrome frame and 5 bowed smoked glass shelves. Done in the style of James David or Design Institute of America aka DIA. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use. There is a small chip on the backside of one shelf and the chrome has no outstanding flaws that we have detected. Please see photos, Circa 1960-1970’s.
WOW!!! Just look at this GORGEOUS chrome and smoked glass 5 shelf étagère!! Designed in the manner of James David or DIA, this wonderful Mid-Century Modern étagère has a distinct appearance… starting with four tall, vertical square chrome tubes that are placed in a manner that creates a tall slender “square” in the center of the étagère. That “square” is attached to a large chrome rectangle which goes against the wall, and five curved smoked glass shelves slide through the center square and attach to the rectangle and pull this beauty together. Handsome pair of walnut tone wood accent or dining armchairs with black wool-like fabric upholstery. They are in wonderful original condition. The fabric is nearly perfect. The walnut stained, we believe ash, wood does show signs of age and use but nothing outstanding. There is wear to the stain on the arms where hands have rubbed. We call this patina. It was a collection designed to bring different period styles together in the same room including pieces such as furniture, rugs, draperies, ashtrays, and lamps. Each piece designed to let you mix patterns and colors in fresh new ways and but retained their individual character with the ability for each piece to stand on its own, blend beautifully with other compatible pieces, or as lovely additions to the furnishings you already had. These fabulous lamps were available in over thirty hot or cool colors and this gorgeous #941 avocado leaf green color glazed pottery base puts me in a spectacular mood!! Lawrence Peabody was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1924. He trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, and he earned a Bachelor of Art degree in 1950 then went on to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1955 he started his own design firm called Lawrence Peabody and Associates in Boston, Massachusetts where his clients included Richardson Brothers, Kohler, Sears & Roebuck, and Boyd Lighting. He assisted in designing several hotels in the United States and the Caribbean. He purchased a home in Haiti in the 1960’s where he and his family would live for six months out of the year. It is where he befriended DeWitt Peters, the founder of Le Centre D'Art, which helped promote interest in Haitian art & craft giving opportunity to hundreds of local artists, many of whom were once impoverished. Mr. Peabody served as Director of Le Centre D’Art. He incorporated Haitian art in his designs and helped bring a collection of one-of-a-kind furniture made by Haitian craftsmen to the United States. Sleek vintage Scandinavian Modern solid rosewood & chrome minimalist end table with floating top by Knud Joos for Jason Mobler. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The aluminum spacers which float the top have a bit of patina. A couple of marks on the top. This end table is much like “that little black dress,” it just works!!! Simple, classic, and timeless!! This is a GORGEOUS rosewood square occasional or end table by Knud Joos for Jason Mobler. Just take another look at the FABULOUS woodgrain on the SOLID rosewood tabletop!! It is stamped under the tabletop however… the black ink stamp has faded and is barely noticeable. The frame is comprised of straight 3/8 inch slightly brushed chrome solid steel square legs and four anodized aluminum cylindrical supports float the top. Its minimalist design is sleek, sophisticated, and absolutely STUNNING!! The quintessential Scandinavian Modern style is sure to be a focal point in any room of your home. Place this beauty next to a wonderful lounge chair as a perfect spot to set your beverage (under a coaster of course!!!) It would also be a lovely place to display foliage or a spectacular table lamp. This little Danish darling is extremely stylish and very versatile!!
Knud Joos was born in 1928 and passed away in 2008. He was a creative Danish architect and designer best known for his minimalist table designs and was part of Vilhelm Wohlert’s studio, the architect behind Denmark’s most famous museum, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

Handsome Mid-Century Modern smaller writing desk by the Robert John Co. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featuring walnut cabinet with white painted steel frame and white laminate top. This is from their Steelwood collection. It desk is in wonderful restored condition. We have sanded and put a new finish on the walnut and the metal frame. The laminate has been cleaned and polished. There are still signs of age but nothing major. Please see photos, circa 1960s.
This wonderful Mid-Century Modern smaller size office desk has been a real puzzle. It has taken much research and I’m still not sure I know about the Robert John Co. from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Their tag says Makers of Contemporary Furniture and that this desk is. When I google them all I come up with is other pieces of furniture being offered that were made by them, but I can’t find any history on the company. And, several listings say the piece was designed by Robert John but made by Knoll. I have not found supporting evidence of that statement! No matter. This is a fabulous desk with a walnut box cabinet containing three equal size drawers that are adorned with cool black and white handles. It is surrounded by a white painted metal frame which accents the walnut wonderfully and a white laminate work surface. This was originally in an architect’s office. I can see why. It has awesome lines and is beautifully designed. This desk is just the right size for a home office. Not as big as an executive desk but a little bigger than a writing desk. Fabulous! Fabulous style! Fabulous size! Fabulous condition! Make it yours.

This Founders Furniture tall Gentleman’s chest is comprised of gorgeous book matched oak veneer and features six full width drawers and two double opening doors, one drawer above the doors and five below. Each drawer is fitted with unique campaign style brass-toned inset handles with brass plated beading around each drawer opening. Such an awesome bar stool by A. Brandt!! This stool is comprised of rustic solid ranch oak with an Acorn Brown finish that is signature to A. Brandt Company furniture. Acorn Brown was made by applying an oil stain before sealing the wood. After lacquering, Acorn Brown wax was applied. And this stool wears it well!! It’s just what you need at the end of your rustic, western, or industrial style bar, but it would also be perfect at a tall game or bar style table. This fabulous stool has a solid ranch oak base with an iron ring stretcher joining its four splayed legs which makes it extra sturdy and mirrors the sultry dark brown round and rotating cushioned vinyl seat.
