Handsome streamline modern, Mid-Century Modern, or Industrial style royal blue & vinyl or faux leather and chrome chaise or daybed with adjustable head or back rest. Wonderful condition keeping in mind that this is vintage & not new so there will be signs of wear & use. The beautiful original royal blue vinyl has some nicks, holes, & dings, specifically on the four corners, which have been repaired. One of the chrome legs has pitting that has been polished & touched up. And there is a small 1/4 “cut” in the main pad area which we felt was better left alone. Chic Herman Miller Everywhere vintage modern table with natural oak wood veneer and rounded square black metal legs by Dan Grabowski. Handsome pair of watercolor paintings each depicting a different winter landscape by Dorothy M. Reece Kordash. They are in wonderful vintage condition and in their original frames. The one on the left in our photograph is titled Designs of Winter and depicts a lovely snowy landscape with bare trees and snow-covered grasses in beautiful translucent steel blues and grays and white. It is signed, matted and framed. The watercolor on the right is titled Treescape and depicts an icy blue winter wonderland of bare trees, evergreens, and grasses. These came from a home filled with incredible mid-century modern furnishings and art. They collected many Kansas and Arizona artists work including these by Dorothy Kordash. Dorothy M. Reece Kordash was born in 1927 in Prairie Village, Kansas. She continued to live, and work in the Kansas City area. However, after retiring, she spent quite a bit of time in Scottsdale, Arizona where she passed in 2010. Her works are in private collections all over the United States. Her obituary states she was one of America’s top cutting-edge artists in the field of contemporary conceptual art and painted in a wide variety of media. She was a member of many organizations including the Kansas Watercolor Society and International Society of Experimental Artists to name just two. Handsome set of 6 Goodform mid-century machine age and industrial style aluminum armchairs by General Fireproofing Company. Comprised of anodized slightly gold colored aluminum frames and upholstered in a woven beige fabric. They are in wonderful vintage condition overall. The aluminum has been cleaned and gone over gently with steel wool and the fabric has been professionally cleaned. That does not mean they are free from signs of age but have a nice patina. You may wish to recover. The aluminum coloration ranges from silver to gold and is individual on each chair. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa 1940s-1960s. Holy cow! We are in love with these awesome Goodform chairs by General Fireproofing!! We have six and they are comprised of anodized brushed aluminum frames and bare a blend of machine age, industrial, mid-century styles. They are anodized a lovely gold color… You heard that right… Gold! Or kind-of “gliver.” A little silvery with a gold tone. Not sure exactly how to describe it, but it’s fabulous!! Two of the chairs are slightly darker gold with less silver and a little extra detail including a V-shaped overlay detail of aluminum on the front curve of the arms, so you can use those two as host and hostess chairs. Currently they are upholstered in a wool-like woven beige fabric, but we don’t think its original; however, it is in good condition and ready to use for a while but…. Wow! Would they ever look fantastic in new leather, vinyl, or maybe mohair! They have a slightly rolled seat back which is a cool detail, the arms are partially upholstered for comfort, and their stretchers and cross bars enhance their industrial look and make them sturdy enough to stand up to a family of toddlers, teenagers, or…elephants whichever you have! Ha Ha!!! The General Fireproofing Company or GF began in 1902 in Youngstown, Ohio. They were originally manufacturers of building materials. But when the building industry took a downturn in 1907 the put their efforts into producing steel office furniture. Handsome 24-piece collection of bright blue Niloak midcentury pottery. They are all in fabulous vintage condition apart from the small glossy glazed Dutch shoe. It sounds like it is cracked but I cannot visually see a crack. The rest appear to have no chips, cracks, or chiggers, and very light crazing if any. Please see photos. We are selling this as a complete 24-piece set. Five pieces are not marked. They are noted in the list, circa 1937-1947. Holy cow! Blue, blue, my love is blue……! I had never seen this much Niloak in one place before obtaining this collection. And all in one color. It is so gorgeous! What better way for you to jump right into the blue trend in decorating. These will be incredible whether you display them all together in one place or scatter them about. Someone spent years at and put in a lot of love into gathering these beauties. Please see below for list and sizes. Niloak is a line of pottery which was produced in Benton, Arkansas by Eagle Pottery Company. Eagle was found in 1890s by Charles Dean Hyten and his brothers. By 1904 Eagle was the largest pottery-ware business in the Benton area. Then in 1909 Arthur Dovey joined Hyten, by then the sole owner, to develop an operation to produce art pottery. Thus, began Niloak. The name Niloak is the spelling of kaolin reversed. Kaolin is the main ingredient of porcelain. Niloak was and is best known for their Swirl pottery resembling marbled paper. Then in 1932 Niloak transitioned from hand thrown products to slip-cast and mold-pressed production which was spearheaded by Stoin M. Stoin. These 62 Hywood shapes were simply marked on the bottom Niloak. Beginning in 1939 new shapes were added that provided a lip and the bottoms of pieces were able to be glazed. Because of the war effort many materials were regulated which were used in the Niloak glazes and clay, so the recipes were reformulated. After the war regular production resumed and new bright glazes were used. By the end of 1947 Niloak was no more. This is a very handsome vintage set of 4 Steelcase chairs comprised of a wonderful cantilever chrome tube base and arms with lovely black plastic arm rests. They have clean, sleek, classic lines with rounded seat backs and contoured seats upholstered in their original gray faux leather or vinyl fabric. We say these chairs are mostly modern, but they would definitely blend in beautifully with Art Deco, mid-century modern, Bauhaus, and other styles. They are extremely comfortable, bursting with impeccable style, and will look wonderful surrounding any dining, office, game, or conference table!! They would also be stunning extra seating scattered about in your living or family room! This set of four is definitely superb Steelcase seating!! Steelcase was founded as the Metal Office Furniture Company in 1912 by Peter M. Wege in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Metal Office Furniture Company's first products included fireproof metal safes and four-drawer filing cabinets which Wege invented and manufactured for the Macey Company. In 1914, the company received its first product patent for "The Victor," a fireproof steel wastebasket. The Victor gained popularity due to its light weight achieved through a patented process of bending flat steel at right angles to create boxes, and its ability to prevent fires at a time when smoking was common indoors, particularly in the workplace. In 1915, the company began manufacturing and distributing steel desks and in 1937, the company collaborated with Frank Lloyd Wright on office furniture. The partnership lasted two years and resulted in some of the first modern workstations. The company officially changed its name to Steelcase, Inc. in 1954 and became known as the leader of the furniture industry in the late 1960s due to the volume of its sales and in 1973, the company debuted the Series 9000 furniture line.
