Ahn Hyun-Ju
Born in Seoul, Ahn Hyun-Ju has lived and worked in Germany for over twenty years. Her work bears the mark of her training in both painting and sculpture. Her abstract paintings, influenced by 1960s and 1970s American minimalism, refute any metaphorical language and all narrative intentions. Their composition is characterised by the contrast between simple and minimalist geometric shapes with deep, intense colours. Ahn Hyun-Ju has been featured five times in the collective exhibition “Die Grosse” at the Kunstpalast Museum in Düsseldorf and in the collective exhibition “Colore non solo”, presented at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005 and at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna in 2006. “How difficult is it to see a thing as a thing itself and recognize the beauty of the being itself? A thing without being a medium of meanings and metaphors which are based in our convention?”

Golden Emerald - Framed Original Minimalist Green Abstract Contemporary Art
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Clara Berta’s acrylic and mixed-media paintings blend texture and color to create harmony, mystery, and depth on the painted surface. Her paintings transform spaces into Zen environments where one can quiet a cluttered mind and enjoy beauty every day. Clara Berta’s paintings explore themes such as the ebb and flow of memory, the significance of personal heritage, the passing of physical time, desire, grief, and love.
This framed original minimalist green abstract contemporary artwork measures 13-inches square. It is framed in a natural wood frame, is wired, and ready to hang. The size includes the frame. It is signed and titled by the artist on the back. Convenient local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping is available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Clara Berta explores the collision between the old and new; destruction and rebuilding lives. She began painting as an outlet of grief; creating something beautiful as the result of loss. Through her creative practice, she has found healing and further offers to her community safe spaces for troubled teens and women to heal through the meditative process of painting. Her artworks are a language, a push forward in new directions and achievements, while always inspired by history. Berta mixes minimalism with underlying texture and embraces modernism while compiling the odds and ends of her attempts to let her art speak for itself.
Her abstract works often include reminders of her travels expressed in unexpected sequences of patterns as well as distortion of perspectives and subconscious spaces. Manipulating the texture with several layers of texture paste and acrylic paint, she will work and re-work her canvases, layering textures to give added dimension, and creating works that intrigue and invite the viewer to explore not only the surface but also the inner language of the painting.
A passionate, award-winning artist of Hungarian heritage, Clara Berta's dynamic and highly textural abstract works have been exhibited and collected worldwide.

Deep Creek Seeps 10, Minimalist painting inspired by Agnes Martin New Mexico art
By Johnnie Winona Ross
Located in New York, NY
Johnnie Winona Ross
Deep Creek Seeps 10, 2007
Oil paint on acrylic base burnished on Belgian linen
Signed twice, dated and titled on the verso; also bears the original Stephen Haller Gallery label\
Canvas is stretched against wooden backing but no outer frame
This work was originally sold by the Stephen Haller Gallery which hosted several critically acclaimed, sell-out shows of New Mexico resident Johniie Winona Ross, whose exquisite Minimalist aesthetic really took hold with collectors. The debt to famous New Mexico resident and Minimalist goddess Agnes Martin is obvious, but Winona Ross has a disctinctive style and technique of his own. The process of creating this work was laborious: Ross typically applies as many as 90-100 layers of paint to each canvas, then scrapes the surface with a straight-edged razor to reveal the many layers (and their chronology), and finally burnishing the surface with a Pueblo pottery stone to achieve a soft gloss.
Maureen Mullarkey of Studio Matters wrote in 2010:
THE LOVELINESS OF JOHNNIE WINONA ROSS' paintings elude translation into either reproduction or verbal description. In 2011, ArtDaily published this announcement from Stephen Haller, publicizing a later exhibition:
"Washington Post critic Stephen Parks characterized Ross’s work in this way: “From a distance his canvases appear to be simple, minimal constructions of horizontal stripes with hints of vertical color in the background. Up close the paintings are seen to be extraordinarily beautiful and complex objects that induce a humming meditative state.”
Ross grounds his work in the inspiration of the desert of the American Southwest, and borrows techniques from ancient Native American sources, melding them with a distinctly sophisticated and utterly contemporary vision. His use of the Native American technique of burnishing pigment and minerals with a potter’s stone to create a hard surface with a visually warm sheen creates an effect reminiscent of the softening of marble steps...
