About the Item
Artist Lisa Weiss uses handmade paper and various different inks with Goldleaf on each piece she makes. Every piece is very unique throughout her creative process.
"Essentially I view the work as meditation. The process delves into mark making, patterning, gesture, flow consciousness, and paring down to essentials. Art making, to me, mirrors life and imparts wisdom. The interplay of place, process, materials, form and the land where the material and the immaterial meet is crucial. Timeless forms, imperfect and evolving, intrigue me. Inspiration is drawn from zen thought, architecture, primitive forms, metaphysics, and the practice of yoga. I am mindful of the Earth’s state, the feminine essence, and the revolution of expanding consciousness."
