A face surfaces within the abstract expression of artist Sharon Sieben's striking contemporary portrait. Cold wax mixed with oil constitutes a compelling image of her model in a meditative state. Sharon reminds us that sometimes, especially after a busy day, a quiet moment is most welcomed. "The subject in this portrait would agree," says Sharon.

About the Artist
Sharon Sieben prefers working in a loose, fluid technique and finds inspiration in the most unexpected things. Her parents bought her a set of oil paints when she was ten years old and it sparked her love of art. She especially admires the work of Impressionist artists such as Paul Cezanne because of how they broke tradition. When she's not making art, she enjoys reading and playing classical guitar...

Artist Diana Elena Chelaru depicts three expressionist female figures in a wavy dance. Their flowing dresses burst into a joyous explosion of blue flowers. About the Artist
Artist Diana Chelaru paints colorful expressionist interpretations of human emotion. “Art is a means of communication, it is how I express my thoughts, hopes, regrets, and joys,” says Diana. She experiments with working on large-scale paintings using the visual language of form, lines, and color to create compositions that exist only in her imagination. Growing up in Romania, she draws inspiration from Byzantine mosaics as well as Gustav Klimt’s subject matter and use of decorative patterns. She received her BFA in Painting from George Enescu Art University and finished her MA in Art History from Queens College. Diana simply goes with the flow rather than dwelling on the formulaic process. It all depends on how and what she feels at the moment. She indulges in music while she creates her work.
