About the Item

Maestro Pedro Friedeberg's works take us to a universe where birds serve as metaphors for freedom and transcendence. Against a light, profound background, the birds rise in metallic tones—silver, pink, beige, white, and black—like flashes of light piercing the background, inviting us to reflect on the passage of time and the pursuit of beauty in a modern world. Each bird, in its distinctive form, seems to hold a whisper of the wind, a moment frozen in eternity. They are figures that, although fleeting, leave a lasting impression on our souls. The color palette, as refined as it is peaceful, reflects the balance between the physical and the spiritual—a visual conversation where light and shadow coexist in perfect harmony. This artwork by Pedro Friedeberg not only invites reflection but also immerses viewers in a play of contrasts and emotions, where each bird is a part of the whole, and the whole is an invitation to wonder.

"Panejos y cojaros con alas" , abstract, surrealist painting, figurative, nature
Located in Ciudad de México, MX
Enveloped by outstretched paintings, Gonzalo García reveals the ever-present ghosts of our past and present in a delicate swirl of color, light, and flesh. These deeply visceral displays of animals, bodies and mythological creatures come to life in his oil paintings' palette of soft tones. There is a struggle to find balance, a tension between fortitude and fragility, safety and vulnerability, masculinity and femininity, and even life and death. From his canvases to his wallpaper pieces, viewers have immersed in a temporal disruption as García shares an investigation into his relationship to memory, dissecting his familial ties, and the pursuit of identity. "My work as a figurative painter examines my experience as a gay...
