Zoa Ace
Zoa Ace was born in Rockford, Illinois, in the 20th century. She is influenced by Max Beckman (1884–1950), who was a German painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor and writer. Although he is classified as an Expressionist artist, he rejected both the term and the movement. Zoa's images are subconsciously manifested into a juxtaposition of themes and figures in motion.

As a writer as well as a visual artist, many of Francis' artworks have a literary aspect to them, whether it is pure illustration or an implied narrative.
