Gaze presents a rounded, solid form that conveys calm strength, with a slightly constricted mouth and elegant, flowing curves. The entire surface is covered in a deep ocean-blue glaze, delicately veined with crackle patterns that resemble the shifting light of underwater currents, serene and profound. Under illumination, the glaze radiates a jewel-like brilliance, drawing the viewer into a meditative state as if staring into the boundless depths of the sea.
The work continues the refined crackle glaze tradition of Song dynasty ceramics while achieving new depth of color through modern firing techniques. By transforming natural imagery into ceramic form, Fu Chin turns the act of gazing into a dialogue with the soul.
