Maggio Musicale Fiorentino - T.L.S. is a Typewritten Letter Signed by Ugo Ojetti to the Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci-Blunt. Florence, April 12, 1937. In Italian. One page, single-sided. On headed paper "City of Florence-May Florentine Music-Second International Music Congress - The President". Original envelope included. Excellent condition. Official request of the President of the aforementioned event, Ugo Ojetti for a visit to the Green Theatre of Villa Marlia for all musicologists, critics and musicians of the International Music Congress. Addressed to teh Countess and owner of the unforgettable Royal Villa in Marlia (Lucca). Ugo Ojetti (Rome, 1871 - Fiesole, 1946) was an Italian writer, art critic, journalist and aphorist. In 1920 he founded his art magazine, Dedalo (Milan, 1920-1933), in which he deals with the history of ancient and modern art. Here intellectuals like Bernard Berenson, Matteo Marangoni, Piero Jahier, Antonio Maraini, Ranuccio Bianchi Bandinelli, Pietro Toesca, Lionello Venturi and Roberto Longhi collaborate. Ojetti inaugurates a new magazine, Pegaso (Florence, 1929-1933), then the literary magazine Pan. Between 1926 and 1927 he was editor of Corriere della Sera. He is among the signatories of the Manifesto of Fascist intellectuals in 1925 and was appointed Academic of Italy in 1930. He was a member of the board of directors of the Italian Encyclopedia until 1933. Ojetti organizes numerous art exhibitions and gives life to important editorial initiatives, during the period of this letter. Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci (Rome, 1885 - Marlia, 1971) Best-known as "Mimì" Pecci-Blunt , the Italian noblewoman was an art collector, patron and nephew of Pope Leo XIII. Extremely volcanic, she was very active in the cultural field, opening numerous lounges, galleries and theaters. In 1919 she married Cecil Blumenthal, later changed to Blunt, a wealthy Jewish banker from New York, heir to an important collection of nineteenth-century French painting. His Parisian and Roman salons was frequented by artists and intellectuals of the caliber of Salvador Dalì, Paul Valery, Poulenc, Paul Claudel, and Aldo Palazzeschi!

The Director of the Italian Encyclopedia, Giovanni Gentile, writes to Ugo Ojetti, one of the institute members, to assure the Countess Pecci-Blunt that Villa Marlia will be mentioned under the entry "Villa" in the encyclopedia. The Ugo Ojetti's business card is attached and reports Ojetti's autograph notes of greetings.
