About the Item
Cast upon the island home of the witch Calypso, Odysseus, the hero of the Odyssey, has lost all - his few remaining men and the last of his ships all destroyed by a massive storm at sea. Despite his leadership, cunning and physical prowess, the gods continue to keep him from his home of Ithaca. Only when their anger subsides will Odysseus be able to glimpse the shores of home. Title: "The castaway" Artist: Derek Overfield Above is a semi-abstract figurative work done from life. The work is completed using a subtractive/additive method utilizing latex paint. The piece is sold unstretched. It can be restretched either inexpensively at a frame shop or DIY and presented in a gallery wrap style. It ships in a sturdy tube, rolled.
