About the Item
This piece is a good representation of the typical evolution my expressionism paintings will take. Think of layers, both in the layered colors you can see, and the many layers underneath that contribute to a complex mixture of textures. On some paintings, I have a concept that I see through to completion and then set it aside and walk past it daily, studying it, walk away and keep coming back. I know it's not done, but don't yet know if it requires a little or a complete paint over. Such was the journey on this. What you see is the third iteration; the first two were nice, but not right. So, they were painted over and new inspiration and concept emerged until I arrived at this.
