This in-camera multiple exposure with colored gels is generations ahead of its time.
It was taken 53 years ago and looks very contemporary today.
Mitchell Funk is a "Color Photographer Pioneer". He was color when color wasn't considered art.
His early color work anticipates developments in color photography by generations.
Signed and dated lower right, numbered on recto 3/15. Unframed, printed later, Other sizes available, Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper
In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" curated by Henri Ghent. 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
