About the Item
Ducks float on a cinnamon pond in loose formation, forming an overall pattern. Their arrangement recalls the work of minimal artists of the 50s and 60s. Yet, a single duck breaks ranks and turns the other way with extended wings, punctuating the composition. The photograph elicits the viewer's warm, serene, and peaceful response.
This image is signed, dated and numbered 3/15 lower right recto. Other sizes are available. The work is unframed and printed later. Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
