From the observation tower of 30 Rockefeller Center, The Chrysler Building is seen looking east.
Its spire is bathed in a golden glow from direct light.
An orange sunset appears to its left because the sun sets in the west. The picture is somewhat mind-boggling, but it is a straight shot, not a composite of two images. Photographer Mitchell Funk shot a reflection in the window that synthesized an east and west view with both direct light and sunset in the same picture.
Signed, dated and numbered 2/15, lower right recto. Other sizes are available and the fine art photograph is unframed and printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
