About the Item

Colours of Life I By Tim Southall [2021] Limited Edition silkscreen print Edition of 10 Image size: H:30 cm x W:40 cm Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:38 cm x W:48 cm x D:0.01cm Sold Unframed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look The Colour of Life series of silkscreen prints are all made from drawings and experinces of the artist's daily life on the Costa de la Luz in southern Spain. Famous for its brilliant light, the Costa de la Luz has long been a magnet for artists. This 9 colour silkscreen is made on a heavyweight 300 gram handmade paper from St Cuthbert's Mill in Somerset. The print is created by printing each colour separately, gradually building up the image. Artist Bio: Tim Southall studied Fine Art at Northumbria University and then printmaking Royal College of Art and l’école des beaux art, Paris. Based in London for twenty years, he now splits his time between London and his house and studio in Cadiz Province, southern Spain. The base upon which he builds his work is metaphysics: existence, objects and their properties, space and time, cause and effect, and possibility. Using these guides, he express's how he see's and experiences the world. This he does mostly through the use of narrative within a landscape using either the human or animal form to create a narrative. He strives to make work which is delicate and shows a lightness of touch along with an eye for detail. He also uses the language of drawing and mark-making in an attempt to describe emotional depth and atmosphere.
