Notes: From the folio, tête edition, Consacré à Valerio Adami, Derrière le miroir, N° 188, 1970. Published by Maeght Éditeur, Paris; printed by Maeght Imprimeur, Paris, 1970, in an edition of 150. Excerpted from the folio (translated from French), The tête edition of this issue of "Behind the Mirror", dedicated to Valerio Adami and including 3 original lithographs was limited to 150 examples on vélin de Lana, numbered and signed by the artist. Finished printing on November 10, 1970 on the presses of Arte Adrien Maeght, Paris.
VALERIO ADAMI (1935) was born in Bologna and educated at the academia di Brera in Milan where he studied as a draftsman from 1951 to 1954. Early on, he was mostly associated with the Pop Art movement. His first major show in 1962 at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London was quickly followed by an exhibit at Documenta III in Kassel. He also represented Italy at the 1968 Venice Biennale. Today, Adami mostly works in London and Paris.
