'Still Life’ depicts a remote American landscape, dressed in snow. Above lies a romantic winter’s sky in brilliant yellows, slate blues and flamingo pinks. Over the vista is superimposed the paradoxical title 'Still Life' in big block letters, gently laced with a soft, blue, 'Paint by Numbers' pattern. Bright and poppy, the print subverts the picture postcard, both offering and withholding a tantalising space within.
