About the Item
Jing Zhiyong's "Slightly Drunk" is a captivating piece that reflects the artist's unique ability to blend childlike simplicity with adult humor. This limited edition print, created in 2021, measures 15.7" x 15.4" and is produced using the LV.M FineArt Giclee Digital Print technique on 270 gsm FineArt Bamboo Paper. With an edition size of only 100, each print is hand-numbered and a prized collectible.
Jing Zhiyong, born in Tianjin, China, in 1982, is a contemporary artist who studied oil painting at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. His work is heavily influenced by the visual language of his childhood, using single colors and bold contours to evoke the aesthetics of children's drawings. However, beneath this seemingly innocent style lies a layer of adult wit and social commentary, making his art both accessible and thought-provoking.
"Slightly Drunk" captures Jing’s signature style, where simplicity meets depth. The piece evokes a sense of nostalgia while simultaneously challenging the viewer to see beyond the surface. His work often plays with themes of innocence and experience, drawing viewers into a world that is deceptively playful but layered with meaning.
Jing's work has been exhibited widely in China, and he continues to be a significant figure in the contemporary art scene. His ability to merge traditional techniques with modern sensibilities has garnered him a global following.

Zhiyong Jing
Born in 1982, Jing Zhiyong's creative work was predominantly inspired by the 1990s. A collective of artists working in the United Kingdom, who came to be known as the YBAs, or Young British Artists, defined the artistic culture of the 1990s. Affiliated loosely by their age and nationality, they were a varied collective of practitioners. A number of the YBAs attended the Royal College of Art and Goldsmiths in London, and were favoured by the ‘super collector’ of the time, Charles Saatchi. The most renowned member of the group is Damien Hirst, and other members included Chris Ofili, Tracey Emin, Marc Quinn, Gavin Turk, Sarah Lucas and Sam Taylor-Johnson (née Sam Taylor-Wood). The YBAs became known for their use of shock tactics and sensationalism, alongside their use of throwaway materials, wild lifestyles and an attitude that was defiant yet commercial. Due to the large amount of media coverage that they garnered, they dominated British art during the 1990s, and their work was epitomised in the group show ‘Sensation’. The art world was influenced by a number of trends throughout the decade, and was characterised by the derisive sculpture of Maurizio Cattelan, and sensitive, conceptual advancements as presented in the work of artists including Felix Gonzalez-Torres.

Jigs

Located in Bozeman, MT
Rooted in observation and fueled by a curiosity about the behavior of objects and handicraft processes, Carly Glovinski makes paintings, sculpture and works on paper that often teeter between representation and abstraction. Letting craft techniques like weaving inform her mark making, her work mimics everyday objects and highlights geometric pattern and structure found in textiles, while exploring the resourceful attitudes associated with domestic craft and rural communities that prioritize placemaking in concert with nature. She received her BFA from Boston University in 2003 and is represented by Morgan Lehman Gallery...
