About the Item

Bronze sculpture on steel base, signed and numbered. Pictured in catalogue raisonne on page 14. Josep Bofill is the son of the painter Josep Bofill Herrero, and comes from a family of artists. He enrolled in the School of Arts and Crafts (Escuela Llotja) of Barcelona in 1958, from which he graduated with an honorary degree. His works can be found in institutions, museums and collections both public and private, such as the Museum of Cidade de Almada in Lisbon and Oftalconde, Ophthalmology Clinic in Porto (Portugal), Museé La Cour d'Or in Metz (France), Miniature Museum of Contemporany Art in Amsterdam (Holland), in the Chevalier Arthur Vandekerckhove collection in Gages (Belgium), the Chacao Museum in Caracas (Venezuela), "United Airlines" New Airport and in the KEE Private Members Club of Hong Kong (China), Provincial Museum of La Rioja in Logroño, Museum of Cadaques in Girona, Consorci Hospitalari de Catalunya, in the Cercle del Liceu, Conei Collection in Barcelona, ??the Diputación de Barcelona. In 1983 he made an Al·legoria de Sant Jordi (allegory of Saint George) for the Palace of the Generalitat, in Barcelona. Private collection Mstislav Rostropovich. He has also created public sculptures that are found, among other places in Girona, Vallromanes and in the Plaza de San Braulio in Zaragoza or, outside Spain, in Switzerland.1 He has also created public sculptures that are found, among other places, in Girona and "L'Alba i el Capvespre" in Vallromanes, in San Braulio Square in Zaragoza or, outside Spain, in Switzerland.1 Public and private assignments such as : Premi Martí Pol of Poetry Music "Celler Vall Llach", Sculpture for the Diputació de Barcelona, ??"Communication Prizes", Sculpture for the Generalitat de Catalunya, "Premis CIDEM" in Barcelona, ??Issworld "Premis ISS Top Managerment" (Denmark) . Painting CEPSA award in Madrid. General Motors award sculpture in Detroit (USA). Prizes: 2012-2rd Prize d'escaparatisme "Festes de la verema" in d'Alella. 2009- 1st Premi d 'escaparatisme "Festes de la Verema" of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, 2005 Seleccionat to the Prize of Fundació Vilà Casas, Torroella de Montgrí. 2001 International Prize for Contemporary Art in Monte-Carlo. 1982 Prize "Josep Llimona", atorgat pel "Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc" in Barcelona.
