Alice Zilberberg Paintings

Canadian, Estonian
Alice Zilberberg is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning artist, recognized by curators, collectors, and art patrons across the globe. Born in the former Soviet Union, she was raised in Israel, then moved to Canada, and now resides in Tel Aviv. A graduate of Ryerson University Photography program, she began her artistic practice by painting: a verve which remains very much present in her digital works. The winner of numerous prestigious competitions, her accolades include receiving the Hasselblad Masters award, as well as 1 st place titles in competitions such as the International Photography Awards, the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, and the Fine Art Photography Awards. Her work has been displayed in galleries across North America, Europe, and Asia; she has been interviewed and featured in publications and platforms such as MTV, Breakfast Television, CBC, and PHOTO+ Magazine in Korea. For over a decade, Zilberberg developed her own distinctive technique for creating her digital paintings, where photography is only the beginning of the final artwork. The works are comprised of many photographs, and carry variety of elements such as colour, toning, manipulation, and painting. She often travels across the globe to record different backgrounds and elements for her creations. Works take months to complete, with every detail meticulously inspected for perfection. With a poetic style of expression, the meanings of her images unravel through metaphor and symbolism that aim to inspire the viewer to look inward. For the past five years, her repertoire has explored themes pertaining to the human condition, namely personal identity, emotional intelligence, relationships, and emotionality. Recent Awards: 2021 Hasselblad Masters Awards, Hasselblad Master, Wildlife 2021 16th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, First Place in Alternative Processes & Open Theme, second Place in Wildlife, and third place in Digital Manipulation 2021 ONE EYELAND Awards, Finalist, Wildlife Photography Awards 2021 BBA Photography Prize at Berlin Photo week, Winner 2020 Color Awards, Outstanding Achievement, First Place in Winner, Wildlife 2020 15th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, First Place in Winner, Wildlife 2020 Life Framer Awards, Animal Kingdom, Second Place Winner 2020 PX3 Prix De La Photographie Awards, Bronze Medal Winner, Wildlife 2020 Blue Green Earth, Nature Photo Contest, Grand Prize Winner 2019 IPA - International Fine Art Photography Awards, First Place in Winner, Wildlife 2019 FAPA – International Fine Art Photography Awards, Silver Award Winner 2019 APA - Annual Photography Awards, Grand Prize Winner, Wildlife 2019 ONE EYELAND Awards, Silver Award Winner, Top 3 Photographers in Canada 2019 BIFA – Budapest International Foto Awards, Bronze Award Winner 2019 MIFA – Moscow International Foto Awards, Bronze Award Winner 2019 Samsung Scope Miami Beach, See Me, Grand Prize Winner 2019 ND - Neutral Density Photography, Fine Art Wildlife, Honorable Mention 2018 12th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, Alternative Processes Category Winner 2018 12th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, Honorable Mention in 6 Categories: Women Seen By Women, Nature, Nude and Figure, Fine Art, and Open Theme, Digital Manipulation 2018 IPA – Lucie Awards, Fine-art other category Honorable Mention 2018 ND - Neutral Density Photography, Fine Art Photomanipulation, Honorable Mention
