Sarah Adams Paintings
Sarah Adams is a prolific painter and has been part of many London based exhibitions, notably the ING Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries in 2016 and 2018, and short-listed for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions 2015 and 2020. Her work has also been exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair, the Strand Gallery, Camden Image Gallery and Espacio Gallery. In 2013, Adams created a series on Battersea Power Station and completed a commission for the redevelopment of the site. Her work was reproduced on a large scale for the hoardings of the new buildings. Recently, Adams has explored landscapes and seascapes, still painted with her expressive mark-making, alongside her Dinky Miniatures, depicting London and coastal scenes, on really tactile postcard size canvases.

Discover new paintings of London and in-particular Battersea by Sarah Adams. A prolific painter, with an impressive portfolio, Sarah’s talents were recently recognised through the selection of her work at this year’s Royal Academy Summer (Winter) Exhibition and the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries. North London based Sarah draws her inspiration from her home city. Her work features iconic cityscapes painted in her distinctive style. Sarah’s use of a limited colour palette of acrylics anchored with white transforms the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolis into calming, serene landscapes with an almost dream-like quality. Her trademark use of thick, creamy, buttery brushmarks give her work a slightly abstract but familiar feel. Up close, you can see her expressive mark making, but stand back and her paintings come to life. Sarah’s past achievements have included exhibiting at the ING Discerning Eye, at the Mall Galleries in 2016 & 2018 and a short-listing for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2015. Her work has also been exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair, The Strand Gallery, Camden Image Gallery and Espacio Gallery. In 2013 she created a series on Battersea Power Station. During the redevelopment of the site, Sarah’s distinctive depiction was selected and reproduced on a large scale for the hoardings of the new development. Recently, Sarah has sought to diversify her artwork through a series of landscapes and seascapes painted in her expressive mark making style. One of Canada’s leading contemporary artists, Charles Pachter is a painter, printmaker, sculptor, designer, historian, and lecturer. His work is pursued by significant private and public collections.
Born in Toronto, he studied art history at the University of Toronto, French literature at the Sorbonne, and painting and graphics at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan.
His work has been exhibited at the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the McMichael Gallery. He is represented in public and private collections throughout Canada, and internationally. He has held solo exhibitions in France, Germany, Japan, the UK, and India.
Pachter worked at Expo 67 in Montreal supervising the installation of 60 contemporary sculptures from around the world. He taught printmaking at the University of Calgary in 1969-70. He spearheaded Toronto’s Queen Street West revival in the 1970s and 80s by restoring 20 old buildings into facilities for arts usage.
He is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Chevalier of France’s Order of Arts and Letters, a member of the Order of Ontario, and holds honorary doctorates from Brock University, OCAD University, and the University of Toronto where he is a Senior Fellow at Massey College. He is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals.
His images of the queen, moose, and maple leaf flag are icons of Canadian contemporary art. McClelland & Stewart publications include an illustrated book on his life and work, and The Journals of Susanna Moodie, his celebrated collaboration with poet Margaret Atwood. His murals of Hockey Knights in Canada can be seen in Toronto’s College Subway Station.
