Native Floridian W. Stanley “Sandy” Proctor is a nationally & internationally reputed professional sculptor, painter and stone carver. In 2006, the State of Florida inducted him into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame, where he shares the honor with Ernest Hemingway, Ray Charles, Tennessee Williams, Zora Neale Hurston, and Jimmy Buffett, among others. He is also the recipient of the American Artists Professional League Award for work best depicting traditional realism, given by the National Sculpture Society.
Sandy’s love of all living things inspire him to capture a subject’s essence. He has been chosen for many juried shows and his sculptures and paintings have been shown at the Smithsonian Museum, the British Museum of Natural History, the Royal Scottish Academy, and the White House.
Sandy’s public and private monumental and portrait bronzes have been installed throughout the USA, including: 3 Heisman Trophy winners, two Navy SEALs killed in the line of duty, FSU Coach Bowden, FSU President Thrasher, the Weurffel Trophy for the All Sports Association national Award named for Danny Wuerffel, just to name a few.
