Medieval 13th Century Carved Stone Gargoyle

About the Item

A medieval carved stone gargoyle from the private collection of a country house in Oxfordshire, originally purchased from Crowther of Syon Lodge in 1985. Dating from the 13th-14th century or earlier, this impressive piece will quickly catch your eye as its gaping mouth and vacant stare draw you in; the handcarved body is an ode to their medieval sculptor. Displayed as pictured, or however desired, this piece will make for a striking new addition in any garden stood alone or amongst wild flowers and greenery. This striking sculpture was once a part of the Kingshott collection; formed over thirty years by Michael and Helen Kingshott, this collection is well recognised and known as being an expertly curated and selected, only including pieces with historical relevance and important provenance.
