Pair of 18th Century French Silvered Bronze Candlesticks, Grape Cluster Design

About the Item

Cast in France during the 1700s, this pair of silvered bronze candlesticks has been delicately chased with grape cluster designs. The highly sinuous candlesticks feature several knops, all adorned with a variety of grape motifs. Additional elements include two rings of beading on the circular bases, roundels, beaded niches, foliage, and fluting. The quality 18th century French candlesticks have aged well, with some areas having developed a patination that gives the bronze the appearance of both silver and gold, depending on the light. Place the candlesticks on a fireplace mantle or small table. They can also be repurposed into a unique pair of desk lamps.
