About the Item
Pair of sterling silver, Adam-Style candlesticks, made in the city of Sheffield, England, year-hallmarked for 1906, Hawkesworth, Eyre and Co. Ltd. - makers. Each candlestick measures 8 1/2 inches high x 4 3/4 inches wide (at widest point across oval base) x over 3 1/2 inches deep (at deepest point of oval base). The pair is weighted. The oval base of each candlestick is fluted in design. This fluted motif is carried onto the graceful column of each candlestick and onto the candle cup of each candlestick. The sterling silver bobeches are removable (see photos). The underside of the base of each candlestick is covered in green felt. There are some very minor dints (see photos) on each candlestick that are commensurate with age and use. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In good antique condition.
