About the Item
Decorative Mid Century Modern Wood (cherry ? rosewood?) Table / Mantel Battery Clock with Copper Enamel Dial made in Spain from the ’50s. Made out of wood, slanted sides sitting on lathe turned wood base with a convex copper enamel insert dial and yellow metal hands. With an acrylic Junhaus Germany C battery operated movement, Start / Stop lever and a turn screw to make contact and keep battery in place. The tear drop shaped copper enameled with squigly mod design in greens, yellow and hours painted in black over a white background. Elegant and unusual shape would fit with any decor; modern, contemporary, traditional .
Measurements: 10 inches high x 4 1/2 inches wide x 2 1/4 inches deep (including hands)
Condition: Very good. Works well. Minor wear consistent with age and use. Small veneer repairs on back panel. Please look at all images.

Mid Century Modern Abstract Design Copper Enamel Platter Harold Tishler 1950s

Elegant and rich Mid Century Modern Copper Enamel Platter by Harold Tishler from the 1950s. The vivid copper background shines through the very dark gray enameling fading into a very light gray outer edge. The edges are folded in to create a softer feel. Two small drilled holes are on the bottom edge, probably needed during firing. Signed on the bottom center H. Tishler.
Condition: Very Good. There are two small holes on either side of rim that were intentionally done, maybe for firing. Some rubbed spot on bottom by signature. Please look at all images and view our other H. Tishler listings.
Measurements: 13 3/4 inches diameter x 2 1/4 inches high
Harold Tishler (1893, Odessa – 1993, Florida) Studied engineering in 1910 at University of Grenoble but did not finished his studies and moved to New York 1913. During WWI, he joined the Merchant Marines and while visiting Japan was introduced to the art of Cloisonne enameling. In 1927, Tishler went to Vienna to study under Josef Hoffmann. Upon his return to NYC in 1932, he began producing copper and silver enamels that were sold at high-end stores.
In 1935, Tishler visited a fellow student from the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna, Edward Winter in Cleveland. Tishler was impressed by Winter’s enameling...

Lovely Copper Enameled Platter from the 1950s by Harold Tishler. A dusty rose enamel over the bright copper background graces this piece. There are some intentional gray streaks over some areas. The bottom is glaze with a maroon cloor center and outer edge and a soft pink circle separating the two. Instead of having a sharp edge around the circumsference, the edge has been folded over and under creating a soft rim. Signed on the bottom H. Tishler.
Condition: Very Good. Two small drilled wholes on either side of the rim for firing purposes (not seem from above). Please look at all images and view our other Tishler enamels’ listings.

Two Modern abstract design small Copper Enamel Vessels by Harold Tishler from the 1950s. One in white enameling in relief over shiny copper background with some gray colored streaks throughout and turquoise glaze inside. Signed inside bottom H. Tishler. The second vessel/cup, was rendered with a thickly applied dark gray enameling fading into a very light gray towards the top on a bright copper background. The inside dark blue enamel. This cup is not signed.
Measurements: 2 1/2 inches diameter x 2 3/8 inches high.
Condition: The white vase has some gray colored streaks that are intentional. Both vases have some very small flakes around the inside of rim. The white/copper vase has some minor crackle of the enamel in two areas. Please look at all images and view our other Tishler creations.
