Seventeenth-century sandstone sphere, Apulia (Italy). This is a decorative sphere made of sandstone, a sedimentary rock formed by small compacted grains of sand.Its surface is rough and the stains present are due to exposure to weathering. This sculpture is used for both outdoor and indoor decoration.
