Hadeland- Willy Johansson (1921-1993) design pokal with engraved inscriptions

About the Item

This is a one-of-a-kind, stunning handcrafted crystal glass pokal from Hadeland Glassverk in Norway. The "Peer Gynt" model was designed by Willy Johansson (1921–1993) in 1971. The glass is engraved with the date 24.01.1972 and was sent by Hadeland Glassverk as a gift to Sir Kjell Strand in 1972. The beautifully engraved inscription reads: "Og har jeg her et brød, en løvsval veiu, en kanne vin, en bok med vers - og deg som synger villnis-viser i min arm, er dette villnis himmel nok for meg." -- "And if I have here a loaf of bread, a leafy road, a jug of wine, a book of verses - and you who sing wild nature songs in my arm, this wild nature heaven is enough for me."
