About the Item
Pair of impressive gilt wood mirrors with an acanthus leaf crest flanked by C-scrolls, the frame with embossed lattice design mimicking a Corinthian capital. The viewer is drawn to the stylized dolphin motifs that sit proudly at the base of the mirrors. Both inset with gilt speckled mirror glass, one more noticeable than the other. Both mirrors with planked wood backing.
Dimensions: 53" W, 78" H, 5 1/2" D
Condition: Please see detail photos. The Pair were once used with console tables and therefore missing any lower framing. The bottom is unfinished. The glass on one mirror is noticeably more age speckled than the other. The mirror frames with old cracks, repairs, screw holes, some discolorations along the sides of the mirror. See detail photos for close-up of condition. While some level of restoration may be desired, the Mirrors retain an outstanding and regal presentation.
