About the Item

Maison Lecan presents this large Napoleon III mercury mirror (circa 1860–1880), crafted in giltwood and stucco, featuring parecloses and topped with an ornate cresting. Its decoration, in the Louis XVI revival style so characteristic of the Second Empire, displays a richly sculpted crest adorned with trophies, ribbons, and foliage garlands, flanked by finials. The side parecloses and finely molded ornaments enhance the elegance and decorative richness of the piece. The original mercury glass provides a unique depth and shimmering reflection, while the paneled wooden back confirms its authenticity. A monumental and spectacular mirror, emblematic of the opulence of the Napoleon III period, perfect to bring prestige and refinement to both classical and contemporary interiors.
