About the Item

Waring and Gillows. In the style of George Walton. A rare Glasgow style Arts & Crafts oak wardrobe with a matching dressing table combined with a well balanced use of chequered inlays. They share an early type of see through finish in a silvery lime coloured wash allowing the beauty of the grain to shine through. The wardrobe with a full length original shaped and bevelled mirrored door. Four bow fronted glass windows. Architectural tapering columns to each forward corner, the front inverts subtly towards the middle. The base with a pair of deep drawers on a plinth base. The dressing table with full length original bevelled swing mirror flanked by further bevelled mirrors with twin drawers to each side and small storage or display areas below. Measures: Wardrobe height 75 inches, width of cornice 66 inches, depth of cornice 25 inches, Dressing table height 65 1/2 inches, width 48 inches, depth 12 inches.
