About the Item

Each with rectangular padded seats upholstered in an antique yellow linen fabric. On moulded X-framed legs, joined by baluster stretchers ending on leaf wrapped feet. These Seats are highly unusual for being produced in oak, and furthermore the amount of small details all over the stools. The fact that the patreas are being placed not just on the arm ends but also on the actual crossing is a feature rarely seen. On top of that you will find the stools being more elaborately detailed compared to other pairs, with carved bands above the feet and under the arms, fluting on the actual arm rests and the baluster turner stretchers. Note: The ebonised oak has a beautiful deep rich colour. An identical pair sold in the Jeremy and hotspur sale Christies 2008.
