About the Item

A corner sofa by J.M. Middelraad for H. Pander & Zn A corner sofa with fabric upholstery. The beautiful hand-carved details in Art Nouveau patterns and dragonflies, as well as on the corners of the top legs. The back wall with facet-cut glass and side wall with stained glass windows. The back wall is a wall side. The right side wall can possibly be visible when placed in a room or the entire sofa can be placed in a corner. The wall side measures 210 cm wide. The right side measures 132 cm wide (deep) The back wall side measures 182 cm high. The sofa is 65 cm deep. Pander & Zonen furniture factory Hollandia was a Dutch furniture manufacturer and aircraft builder. Klaas Pander , Dutch (1819 - 1897) Klaas Pander first sold mats in Gouda and later in 1878 he moved to Wagenstraat 21, The Hague, where he started a shop. Partly under the influence of his son Hendrik, the collection was expanded with curtains, linoleum, blankets and furniture. In 1887 Hendrik Pander (1842-1893), the son of Klaas, opened the Pander Meubelfabriek (Pander Furniture factory) in The Hague. The Hollandia flour factory used to be located here. The name of the company was changed to H. Pander & Zonen.
