Misha Kahn [American, b. 1989] A Little of This and a Little of That, 2022 Ceramic Measures: 36 x 48 x 20.25 inches 91 x 122 x 51 cm Misha Kahn has emerged as one of the leading creative voices of his generation. Through a wildly imaginative approach that embraces spontaneity and non-conformity, Kahn allows the illogical and the irreverent to take over his entire process. He employs everything from lo-fi and ad hoc techniques—such as improvisational molds and collage—to high-tech tools such as virtual reality and robotics. Toogood was born in the UK in 1977 and graduated with a BA in the History of Art in 1998 from Bristol University. Upon graduation, she worked as a prop stylist at The World of Interiors before establishing Studio Toogood in 2008. The design features a round shelf also in cerused "pippy" English elm echoing the shape of the top. The outward canted legs are tapered downward giving the form a visual lift form while creating a dynamic stance. The heavyish bottom rails serve to anchor piece while the curved edge profile of the legs leads the eye top the center toward the lower shelf.
