About the Item

Venetian Lacquered Coffee Table. Claude Dalle was a French Designer popular among affluent clientele in Paris and the Middle East in the 1970s and 1980s, often merging Art Deco and Hollywood Regency styles. HIs lacquered pieces, like the giltwood coffee table, reflected the era's love for glamour and statement interiors. This table has a rectangular glass top with beautiful golden and green decorative banding with a geometric design on top edges on bottom. Table rests on four green and golden female sculptural Sphynx bodies as legs. The high-gloss lacquer finish, a nod to Asian lacquerware, was a popular luxury feature at the time, elevating otherwise simple forms into high-end showpieces.
