20th Century Bureau Plat or Writting Table by the Model of Andre Charles Boulle
About the Item
This model was built by Charles Boulle, the most important and historian of Louis XV.
Piano white Polished veneer on solid beech and oak. Extremely finely chiselled bronze. Slightly protruding, profiled tabletop and gold-embossed leather insert, flanked by a grotesque mask on each corner. Three-wheeled frame base with wide knee pocket, ending on four cabriole legs with forward looking, imposing Espagnoletten / Frauenbüsten (Woman Bust) in Sabots. Medium drawer centered with a female mask escucheon, flanked by a bearded mask and drawers, the backside with simulated drawers, the sides each centered by a satyr mask. Exactly according to our original handmade (of the time) and approved by our art experts personally. Beautiful patina, with shellac handpolit.
