Art Nouveau Round Banquet Dining Table after Majorelle
About the Item
Impressive round dining table with stylized carved legs having flowers and naturalistic foliate decorative motif. The carving, and quality is reminiscent of the French master Louis Majorelle. This example includes the optional center legs and 5 leaves. I believe the table originally had 6 leaves, but only 5 remain. The leaves will need to be refinished, they are not warped or cracked, but, again, the finish is rough and will need to be addressed. We have professional refinishing services available if you would like us to be involved in the process. Diameter of table without leaves 54 inch x fully extended 120.5 inch, each leaf is 12.5 inch W.
Solid walnut, turn of the century vintage, probably American made in the French style, unmarked.
