Swedish Folk Art Kurbits Country Drop-Leaf Table, Late 19th Century
About the Item
Unusual antique Swedish Kurbits drop-leaf table hand-printed in the Classic Folk Art tradition of mid Sweden, circa late 19th century.
The 4 turned legs are in country style and the table is finished in hand-printed faux wood grain with lots of detail.
As per the kurbits Folk Art tradition, the design features feathers and swirls in autumnal colors with rich reds, russets, yellows, oranges and browns
Table wings are supported by pullout wooden arms underneath.
The paint work is fairly distressed from use and has a slight sheen to it that has gone matte in some areas.
The table is approximately 94 cm wide without the leaves extended.
