Small table inlaid in various woods, Sicily, 18th century

About the Item

Description This 18th-century Sicilian coffee table is made of various woods, rosewood, walnut, and maple. The rectangular top features a sophisticated geometric and radial decoration in the center, with a star motif inscribed in a contrasting wooden frame. The edge is embellished with a bronze profile. The side bands are enriched by inlays with geometric and linear patterns, highlighted by the use of woods of different shades to create effects of depth and color contrast. As well as the presence of a finely crafted bronze profile. The corners are emphasized by vertical fluted tiles, typical of the Sicilian neoclassical style. The tapered, fluted legs contribute to the elegance of the piece, lending lightness to the structure. Dimensions 69cm x 47cm h:72cm Provenance Private Collection ■Condition Defects and Restorations.
