About the Item
A very attractive & extremely good quality, 19th century regency period nest of three rosewood coffee tables having extremely well figured tops, the centre table with inlaid chess board, raised on elegant baluster turned upright supports and sabre feet.
Unlike many examples which you will see on the market that date to the late 19th century in the Regency style these beautiful tables were made in the early 19th Century in Regency times. This is particularly evident in the choice of superbly figured, rich rosewood veneers, which would have been much easier to lay ones hands on at the beginning of the 19th century than at the end of the 19th century.
The top of each table is beautifully veneered in figured rosewood and the centre table is inlaid with a chess board meaning it can be pulled out and used separately.
These tables are in good, solid, functional condition, with very little restoration or existing damage to speak of, aside from one or two old veneer chips which now blend into the overall surface and a few old marks and scratches. It is worth noting that we have had many similar nests of this period and it’s not that often that they are found without rudimentary repairs to smashed legs, or with tops that have faded to totally different colour, split, or just generally look different.
As with all items which we offer for sale they have been attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled antique furniture restorers who have tightened the joints, cleaned and naturally waxed them to ensure they are presented in retail condition ready to be placed straight into use.
Perfect for a whole variety of spaces around the home they will add a touch of elegance, class and function to absolutely any room around the home.
