About the Item

Circa 1860 travel or lap desk on custom made side table stand, Swedish. Marquetry panel top decoration of a sleigh pulled by one man, pushed by another. Marquetry leaves & flowers with broad parquetry bandings. Walnut veneers of contrasting woods. Opens to 5 lidded compartments & a nib compartment. Lacks a drawer under dome top. Ample paper storage. Replaced hinges. Now on a custom made stand. 18" x 12" x 19" h. on stand.
