Mid century Scandinavian walnut and birch inlaid metamorphic work table

About the Item

Mid century walnut and birch metamorphic work table circa 1944. Beautiful side/work table from Sweden, very strong in art deco and grace influences. Dated 1944 on the underside. Top surface with matched burr walnut slides which slide out to reveal a sliding birch compartment tray, which itself is removable to allow further storage.  Frieze decorated with joined leaves which flow all the way round.  Raised on 4 birch tapering legs with channeled detailing. Good rich colour, suitable for many uses and rooms around the home.  Recently re-polished in our workshop. Length open: 46"
