Lofty Ambitions - London Bachelor Pad

The brief was to do a light interior refurbishment and to decorate a busy bachelor's 1,150 sq ft flat into a loft-style apartment in keeping with the original interior architecture of its building. The client had a list of ideal desires for his budget; including removing the tray frame ceiling and bulkheads to increase floor-to-ceiling and window heights and, dropping the various floor levels that were put in by the previous owner, add underfloor heating throughout as well as new wood floors, two modern bathrooms and a new kitchen. The project ended up being a full refurbishment, and The Studio worked within the existing layout with only minor tweaks to help keep costs down, including the first fix plumbing; furthermore, they also procured all the finishes for the contractor to help manage the budget. In the end, Studio L was able to realise the majority of the clients' desires and then some on a tight construction budget.
