Who invented Pointillism?
1 Answer

The French painters Georges Seurat and Paul Signac invented Pointillism. The technique emerged from Impressionism, and like Impressionist painters Claude Monet and Camille Pissarro, Seurat and Signac were fascinated with the concept of exploring how the eye perceives the world around it. As a result, they experimented with using tiny dots of color that come together to form a complete image when viewed from afar. On 1stDibs, find a selection of Pointillist art.
