Who was the leader of the Fauves?

1 Answer
There wasn't just one leader of the Fauves. Historians typically credit André Derain and Henri Matisse as being the leading proponents of Fauvism. Between 1905 and 1908, Derain, Matisse and the other Fauves hosted three exhibitions showcasing their artwork, featuring wild, active brushstrokes and a palette unconstrained by nature.
