She was born in Madrid, but moved to Barcelona with her family as a child. She began training in 1956 at the academy of the painter Víctor Esteban Ripaux and at Escola de la Llotja in 1959 and Escuela Massana in 1969. By the 70s she had finished her studies and became a professional painter. Her works focus on the nude, generally placed in an abstract and dreamlike background that include objects that offer clues to the story told by the central figures. Biography: Frank Stella (1936-) is an American artist best known for his use of geometric patterns and shapes in creating both paintings and sculptures. Arguably one of the most influential living American artists, Stella’s works utilize the formal properties of shape, color, and composition to explore non-literary narratives, as seen in his work Harrar II (1967) from the Protractor series. “Abstraction didn't have to be limited to a kind of rectilinear geometry or even a simple curve geometry. It could have a geometry that had a narrative impact. In other words, you could tell a story with the shapes,” he explained. “It wouldn't be a literal story, but the shapes and the interaction of the shapes and colors would give you a narrative sense. You could have a sense of an abstract piece flowing along and being part of an action or activity.” Born on May 12, 1936 in Malden, MA, Stella went on to study history at Princeton University before moving to New York in 1958. Biography: Andy Warhol ( born Andrew Warhola; August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became a renowned and sometimes controversial artist. The Andy Warhol Museum in his native city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, holds an extensive permanent collection of art and archives. It is the largest museum in the United States dedicated to a single artist. Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. He was also a pioneer in computer-generated art using Amiga computers that were introduced in 1984, two years before his death. He founded Interview magazine and was the author of numerous books, including The Philosophy of Andy Warhol and Popism: The Warhol Sixties. This is an original drawing on paper by Hunter Stabler measuring 12”h x 12”w x 2.5”d framed. The piece is made from graphite, ink, transfer paper and Gelly Roll® pen on paper. Hunter Stabler was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and was raised in upstate South Carolina. He received a BFA in painting from The Maryland Institute, College of Art and an MFA in painting from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing an MFA in Digital Art at Louisiana State University.
